The evaporator coil works by applying heat to convert the liquid refrigerant into vapor. This vapor is then separated from the remaining liquid, and subsequently condensed. The concentrated liquid is either directed into a secondary evaporator for further processing or removed from the system. The evaporator typically consists of four main sections: the heat exchange surface, the separator, the condenser, and the feed system.
